Spout pouches are widely used flexible packaging containers for liquid and semi-liquid food storage. Their composite plastic and aluminum foil structures have specific environmental adaptability, and improper storage will easily cause bag aging, sealing failure, liquid deterioration and shortened shelf life. To maintain the structural integrity, barrier performance and storage stability of spout pouches, standardized storage management is required for both empty pouches and filled finished products. Mastering scientific storage precautions can effectively avoid packaging damage and food safety risks.
First, spout pouches need to be stored in a cool, dry and dark environment. Both transparent and aluminum foil spout pouches are sensitive to high temperature and humidity. Long-term exposure to direct sunlight and high-temperature environments will accelerate the aging of the composite film layer, cause the bag body to become brittle and faded, and reduce the heat-sealing tightness and barrier performance. Humid air will lead to moisture adsorption on the bag surface, easily inducing mildew on the packaging and affecting internal food quality. It is necessary to avoid placing spout pouches near heating equipment, kitchen high-temperature areas and outdoor exposed positions, and maintain ventilated and dry storage conditions.
Second, avoid excessive extrusion, piercing and stacked heavy pressure during storage. The self-standing structure of spout pouches is flexible. Overweight stacking will cause permanent deformation of the bag body, cracking of the sealing edge and loosening of the spout connection, resulting in hidden air leakage dangers. In addition, sharp hard objects such as nails and metal debris can easily pierce the thin composite layer, forming tiny pinholes that damage the vacuum and sealing environment. It is recommended to place spout pouches flat or upright in classified boxes, control the stacking height, and isolate sharp items to keep the bag body intact.
Third, classified storage and sealed protection are essential. Empty unused spout pouches need to be sealed and stored in batches to prevent dust and sundries from contaminating the inner layer, ensuring food-grade cleanliness during secondary use. Filled food spout pouches should be stored separately according to food properties. Perishable liquids such as fruit juice and soup need refrigeration, while light-sensitive products such as medicinal liquid and syrup must use aluminum foil spout pouches for dark storage. Meanwhile, opened spout pouches must tighten the screw cap completely to isolate air and prevent liquid oxidation and volatilization.
In conclusion, the core storage precautions for spout pouches are avoiding high temperature, light and humidity, preventing physical damage, and implementing classified sealed storage. Standardized storage methods can fully retain the packaging performance of spout pouches and ensure the long-term safe preservation of stored liquids.
